The Odd Couple Sings

"When you talk about embarrassing things that are connected to The Odd Couple, my singing tops the list. Now Tony can sing, but I have a voice like a loud snore. There were 55 musicians and when I started to sing, they all looked up at one time to see if an elephant had come into the studio."
-Jack Klugman, Nick at Nite Online chat, June 4, 1996
In 1973, Tony Randall and Jack Klugman recorded an album called "The Odd Couple Sings" for London Records. Roland Shaw and The London Festival Orchestra and Chorus provided the music and additional vocals. The record was not a chart-topper (naturally) but is a highly sought-after item for many Odd Couple fans.
Although the album may be hard to find, you can listen to the songs right here:
Side 1:
- Johnny One Note (2:21)
- You're So Vain (3:16)
- Play a Simple Melody (3:08)
- When Banana Skins are Falling (I'll Come Sliding Back to You) (2:42)
- The Inch Worm (from "Hans Christian Andersen") (2:22)
- Brush Up Your Shakespeare (from "Kiss Me Kate") (2:44)
- Together Wherever We Go (1:50)
Side 2:
- The Odd Couple Opera (original title "Imagination") (10:30)
- Friendship (2:58)
- Applause, Applause (2:35)
