When did you start watching OC? 2nd or 3rd year of its original airings
Why to you like OC? I think it's because of the good ol' Jewish Schtick. So many of the lines really are based in Jewish humor and so
many of them are delivered with that great intonation. Oscar: Don't con me with Lincoln, already. What is
this, the Virginia Graham Show? You know Oscar Homolka?? Felix: Go ahead, pick on a man with one nostril. Felix's sighs. I could go on for
days! The extremes of the 2 personalities also crack me up. Add to that the clashes, the guilt trips, the "pushing of the envelope" and
it just made for some great comedy.
What is your favorite episode? Password, Odd Monks....

We started out on the board going as "Salty Pepper," using 2 names because we were a H + W team. Now I'm really the only one posting so I cut it down to Salty. I refer to my husband as "Pepper." We originally took the name "Salty Pepper" because when we first found the board, Phil Leeds had just died. We chose Salty Pepper in honor of him. (For those who don't know, Salty Pepper was Leed's character's name in the Golden Earrings episode.) The great thing about us is that we were both avid Odd Couple fans before we even met each other. Upon finding out that commonality, we knew it was a match made in heaven.
Pepper and I had a terrific time at the 1st Annual Odd Couple gathering, held at the Press Box on November 13, 2004. Thanks to those who attended and I hope to see you all (and other Boarders too!) again at the 2nd Annual! (Bio last updated on 11/20/04)

Date of birth: January 19, 1962
Where are you from? Long Island, NY
When did you start watching OC? started watching 1970 first run, and then 1977-80 on WPIX in re-runs.
Why do you like OC? cleverness, silliness, creativity and Randall and Klugman are irreplaceable in my
opinion. This show didn't do what many failed comedies try to do, which is just come up with funny lines and try to make a story AROUND them,
to fit them into. It has 2 very well developed characters whose habits and traits we know very well, and the humor comes out of what 2 people
like this would do or say in any situation.
What is your favorite episode? Role reversal

b: the scene with Richard Stahl as the psychiatrist arguing with his secretary.
c: the scene with Felix running around the living room when he thinks there is a gas leak.

When did you start watching OC? I remember enjoying the show during it's original run and then watching
it on a regular basis when it ran in on WPIX every day.
Why do you like OC? I just think it's funny. Some of the funniest lines I've ever heard and to this day
I use many of them in real life.
What is your favorite episode? Top 3: The Flying Felix, Felix the Calypso Singer and The New car
What is your favorite scene and/or line? One of the funniest scenes is from the
computer dating episode where Felix sticks his nose in Oscars business while Oscar's filling out the dating application form. There's about
10 good laughs within that 2-3 minute scene. The 3 courtroom scenes are each hilarious. 2 of my favorite lines are "Go fill the tub and
bob for apples" and from the cabin episode "Get out of here, they're all
gonna want ice cream.
What are your other favorite tv shows? Today I mostly watch just sporting events and news
programs. I enjoy the Simpsons and also Seinfeld. Shows I enjoy from the past include All in the Family and The Twilight Zone.

up to 4 times a weeknight for a period of time in the mid to late 70's. I was hooked. Still am.
Why do you like OC? There is such good chemistry between the characters on the show, such
as in "The Decathelon", or in"A Night to Dismember".
What is your favorite episode? There are so many great episodes, but my personal favorite is the one
where the 3 different versions of why Blanche and Oscar split up.

and Felix had his rhinoplasty--after Gloria got a migraine and left them alone.....Oscar flicking his ash and Felix hearing that.

Name: Jaclyn Mussehl
Year of Birth: 1978
Where are you from? Born and raised in a suburb of Buffalo, New York - home of Felix's brother Floyd. (And
as far as I know, there are no streets around here that have 5 bowling alleys on them!)
When did you start watching OC? Very recently, compared to the other posters here. Spring 1997, when
the show was on Nick at Nite. I think that the show had already been on Nick for about a year, but I had never paid much attention to it, until
one night I happened to catch the episode where Felix's parrot dies, and I was hooked.
Why do you like OC? Partly for the reason I like a lot of older sitcoms, because they are funny without
trying to be shocking or edgy, and don't have every single episode's plot based on something to do with sex. Also,
it's just a great premise, having two highly contrasting personalities living together and trying to not kill each other. :)
What is your favorite episode? Role-reversal and Felix's insomnia
What are your favorite scenes and/or lines? Edna has run away, and when Felix comes home Oscar hands him a note:

Mr. Bean, DangerMouse, You Can't Do That On Television (it was a Canadian show
that aired on Nickelodeon in the 1980s), Seinfeld, the Monkees
What are your other interests? Surfing the net, designing webpages, writing fiction (one of these days
I'm going to get around to writing a best-seller, and then you can all say that you knew me before I was famous), reading, going to musicals,
"oldies" music (1940s-1960s), fitness, shopping, collecting beanie babies (seriously)
What do you do for a living? I'm a librarian. Right now I have a temp job in a corporate library.

it overall premise. Also, I like the theme and score music
What is your favorite episode? "I Gotta Be Me". Classic display of how one seem to the other
What is your favorite scene and/or line? From "Let's Make a Deal": Felix, forced to sleep in Oscar's army cot,
plays "Taps" with his lips, then whimpers halfway through
What are your other favorite tv shows? The Flintstones, M*A*S*H, Soap, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, ER, Will & Grace and 24
