Canned Squid

Real name: Mike Rennie
Date of Birth: 12/5/63
Where are you from? Originally from Bloomfield, NJ but now live in Verona.
When did you start watching OC? As a 10 year old with my dad and brothers when it came out. My mom hated Felix and refused to watch. (Really)
Why do you like OC? What can you say that hasn't been said? The writing is excellent. The one-liners will be repeated forever because they are now part of our lexicon. Jack and Tony are perfect as O & F. Gary Marshall is the funniest person ever.
What is your favorite episode? Tough one. Probably Fat Farm but every other one is tied for second.
What is your favorite scene and/or line? Most often used is "I much fear serious trouble in the fuselage Frederick." Also,"Good, what's the temperature" to anyone who quotes the precise time. "Love has made me strong"....Strength has made him stronger!" I love the scene where Felix is testing his burial plot and gets all excited about the location only to be informed that Oscar blew the money on a horserace. O-" What do you want me to say? F-"You can say this is the most irresponsible thing you've ever done, it's outrageous! O- "It's the most irresponsible thing I've ever done, it's outrageous." F- "Well you're just saying that" O-"Well you told me to say it" F-"You could at least have the decency to apologize." O-" I apologize" F-"That's not going to get me my grave back is it!?" I defy anyone not to laugh at that.

Why do you like OC? I like the show because Tony and Jack had a great chemistry, and the little things, like each ones reactions and facial expressions just add so much to the written jokes, that they make it seem like they weren't taken from a script, but delivered in real life.

Roger

Name: RogerRoger
Date of Birth: May 7, 1970
Where do you live? Brooklyn, NY
When did you start watching OC? In reruns on WPIX, Channel 11.
Why do you like OC? The show is one of my earliest television memories - that and the old Adam West Batman serial, only the former of which has stood the test of time. I remember having to sometimes make a choice between OC on Channel 11 or Benny Hill on Channel 9, and OC always won (partly because I didn't get some of the dirty jokes on BH). This choice, however, was more difficult to make as I entered puberty.
What is your favorite episode? The Odd Decathlon - it's the armchair athlete in me. And the line "Everybody needs Pizza and Beer." Truer words have never been spoken.
What are your favorite scenes and/or lines? My three favorites are the Acting lesson in Felix Directs, the Umpiring lesson in the Odd Father, and the Radio Q&A lesson in The Big Broadcast - I guess I like when the boys are trying to teach each other.
What are your other favorite tv shows? Not much into network television anymore - especially since the advent of the Reality TV monarchy. I do watch The Shield, 24, and The Simpsons - otherwise its Discovery or the History Channel.
What are your other interests? Cooking, biking, snowboarding, running (4:02 2003 NYC Marathon), hockey, camping, hiking, martial arts - basically if it makes me break a sweat, I'm there.
What do you do for a living? Marketing Director
